Good time for The … Good time for The Band. I’m lovin the various degrees of beard. Just a group of guys havin a great time and playin great songs. That’s what it’s all about right there.
Two Hit Wonder? The … Two Hit Wonder? The Weight, I shall be released, Up on Cripple Creek, The Night They Drove old Dixie Down, Stage Fright, plus gold and platinum albums, Studio albums

Everyone is … Everyone is entitled to their opinion…if we all liked te same music it would be a boring world. I have to strongly disagree with yours’ but that is okay. Have you listened to any of their other music? “I Shall Be Released” and “It Makes No Difference” are two of my favorites. There is a new movie about Levon coming out soon “Ain’t In It For My Health” and he is going to talk about The Band years. I hope you can keep an open mind and watch this…it may make you appreciate them a bit more

“Leaders … @Free1108
“Leaders in the industry” lol that’s a good one. Just because the band members are knowledgeable about playing different instruments doesn’t mean they write good songs. The Band is a two-hit wonder.
Only 50th? I’d say … Only 50th? I’d say that’s extremely underrated. Then again, Rolling Stone always did have a tilt towards the commercialized music scene.
The Band was the antithesis of today’s music. They wrote songs that told stories and were multi-faceted musicians. These days, anyone who doesn’t lip sync is considered a master musician.
Excuse me sir..but … Excuse me sir..but you are way wrong. The Band was composed of musicians..they all were multi-talented. They were leaders in the industry. How many bands do you know that possess such a broad range of knowledge. They did some awesome work and did not get the credit due. You need to research them if you have not got it by now!
I think it is more … I think it is more there influence than anything. They played with like every major musician of the period (see the entire cast from the last waltz). Clapton admitted to wanting to be in the band so badly. They toured with Bob Dylan when he switched to electric.
I actually think … I actually think they’re overrated. Rolling Stone ranked them #50 on best 100 artists. They have a few great songs, but they have had way more duds than gems.
